Member-at-Large: Bekir Genc

I am an Associate Professor of the School of Mining Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand. I hold a PhD from WITS and have over 19 years’ of experience in the mining industry.

I currently lecture in the areas of Computer Skills, Computer Applications in Mining and Computerised Mine Design. My research interests are mine planning software and software utilisation, computer applications in mining, mine planning and optimization and spontaneous combustion, prediction prevention and Control.

I have authored peer reviewed journal papers and presented papers at international conferences. I am a Pr. Eng of ECSA and a member of the SAIMM.
